With our second engagement of our three part series complete, here's a recap of some of Be.Trit and Chantal Chagnon's adventures from Feb 10th. Be.Trit continued to collect feedback from the public on their Roots/Routes. All these hand written gems, by you, the public of Calgary, are being compiled to create the next story which will travel along with the sculpture for future public engagement sessions. We will be entitling this story 'A Story of the People of Moh-kins-tsis'.
All of the data collected finds a home in our Tree of Life box onsite and is stored with safety and care. You are free to identify yourself, or remain anonymous, and please share in whatever language you are most comfortable in! At the Be.Trit studio we will dive into reading the contents of our box of intrigue to compose this new 'Story of the People of Moh-kins-tsis' with the same kindness and consideration these precious gems have been shared with us.
Here are the current stories which travel along with Roots/Routes:

Hello, I came from Spain 3 months ago.
I'm very happy to be here because,
this is a good opportunity for me.
But I miss my family very much.

WE CAME TO CALGARY A FEW MONTH AGO.I AM WITH MY 3 CHILDREN AND MY HUSBAND. SO FAR, WE ARE LOVING IT HERE. THE SCULPTURE IS MORE OF A REPRESENTATION OF FAMILY TIES. AS LONG AS WHEREVER YOU GO WITH
FAMILY, EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY.
Last week Chantal Chagnon shared a Story of the Raven to approximately 50 passersby, those who came early go seats and blankets to accompany their hot chocolate, provided by Be.Trit in collaboration with Chinook Blast. Following this story, Chantal shared the Song of the Raven, teaching it to the participants so they could sing along. A learning and sharing event for all!
Join us this Saturday Feb 17th for free hot chocolate (while supplies last), story telling, and share some inspiration, from 4-7pm. Story starts at 6pm, come on out and Orbit the Blast with Be.Trit, Roots/Routes, and Indigenous story teller Chantal Chagnon!
